Monumentation was set to aid in the sharing of data by creating a common coordinate database.  This monumentation consists of primary GPS controls set approximately every two miles as well as secondary controls placed in the centerline of NC 12 at a every two thousand feet or less.  GPS controls are concrete monuments with caps and centerline control is a mag nail with a brass washer.  All coordinates are reported in NAD 83/95 grid and elevations are NAVD 88. All units are US survey foot.
