NC 12 Studies Page Header

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has included planning studies for each of the NC 12 Hot Spots in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Six of the studies are defined as interim, which means that the alternatives evaluated in those studies are intended to last only until a long-term solution is in place at that site. The interim studies began for these hot spots in the spring of 2000. A long-term study, which will contain alternatives designed to last up to 50 years, has also begun for the portion of NC 12 between Buxton and Avon. Other long-term studies will follow.
